It will be closed automatically when the driver is successfully installed. Please try installing the driver program again by clicking the entry, then select start auto searching for the software, or manually locate the specific file that contains the driver program. Using wired network between the Pass-Thru device and the PC, users can choose either way of connection described as below. Here you need to select the Internet Protocol (TCPIP) option, and then click on the Properties button. In this window, you need to select Use the following IP Address radio button, and set the specific IP address (take the value shown in picture below example), then click on OK. Select Manual, if you are connecting to the PC directly for the first time, and then set the IP address on your own. Even they DID work, the unit would become generic and the splash screen would no longer say Cen-Tech. I loaded the software on the disk onto my PC and opened the program, MaxiLink, which starts out with a form for updating the program software and DTC library. Maxi Link Ii Software Update File IsThe update file is a.bin file and is nowhere to be found in the software. Same for the DTC update which is a.AUT file. Maxi Link Ii Software Zip Format ButI have gone to the website auteltech.com and found some update file in zip format but no instructions in them for installing. Judging from the english errors I suspect the company in foreign. Especially since their complaintquestion form is in Excel spreadsheet format. Maxi Link Ii Software How To Get TheDoes anyone know how to get the update function to work for the scanner and software Id really appreciate any help you can offer. I got mine in the middle of this month (August 2009) and have already used it to help fix a VW Jetta with a misfire. Unfortunately have not been able to pull any ABS, SRS, or transmission codes from vehicles because they are mostly vehicle specific and kept secret. I found the actually manufacturer of the scanner on the internet. Theyre a Chinese company which obviously just made the scanner for Harbor Freight with different labels on it. I would like to make this topic into an area where we can collect all the info people have on this scanner. Expect it to go on sale again sometime soon as HF cycles what items go on sale all the time. The actual company that makes it is called Autel and call the scanner a MaxiScan MS509. ![]() I dont have my scanner with me right now so I cant get you the versions that are on mine. If anyone else has this scanner please post the hardware, software, definitions and whatever other versions you have so we all can compare. ![]() DTC Update v1.00, Dated March 12th, 2008:. DB161.AUT DO NOT INSTALL THESE ON YOUR CEN-TECH UNIT I have not tested them to see if they are compatible or are a downgrade. As per last post, here are the specifics on my OBD: Burn Date:12032008 SW Ver: V2.04 HW Ver: V1.50 Lib. Ver: V2.60 Any help appreciated. If I get some time I will disassemble the unit to see what kind of hardware were dealing with and what software I will need to pull the ROM (Exact opposite of the Max-Link Update software). Now if we could just find someone whos familiar with interfacing with such a device. Since a ROM update is possible via the serial, it is also possible to read the ROM and make a copy of it. This is standard practice to do before updating a ROM just so theres a backup if anything goes wrong. Anyway, Im no programmer or software guy, so Im hoping someone with serialinterface protocolsterminal experience will stumble upon this thread. On another note, I did disassemble the unit, but put it back together before I took pictures of it with my camera.
